For C8 owners who like it raw, rowdy, and light, the AWE Track Edition exhaust is for you. The Track Edition shares the same bespoke design and precision engineering as its Touring Edition counterpart, minus AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®, providing a weight savings of 39 lbs over stock.
In place of the 180 Technology® resonators are Track Edition straight pipe sections. As a result, this version is known to get rowdy during mid-range acceleration and deceleration, as well as becoming more noticeable within the cabin during V4 mode.
Due to this reason, AWE Track Edition Exhausts cannot be returned based on sound preference. You’ve been warned.
Thanks to AWE Tuning's patented 180 Technology®, the exhaust tone, and volume of your C8 are controlled by throttle input. Valves can be used to control flow to prevent drone and exhaust volume. . . but given the magic of 180 Technology®, valves are not needed. Want to be stealthy through a residential area? No problem. Need your highway driving to be nearly the same as stock (if not quieter)? 180 Technology® delivers. Drop that hammer, and it sings a completely different song. The Track Edition, on the other hand, is for those who like it rowdy around the clock, thus it features lightweight Track Edition sections instead of 180 Technology®.
The AWE No CEL (Check Engine Light) Guarantee is noted on certain AWE products, and offers peace of mind against the appearance of Check Engine Lights when products are installed properly and used as intended, on vehicles with no additional modifications, with the exception of other AWE products intended to work with the product in question.
Regardless of the configuration, C8s have valve connections, and AWE engineered a solution for both AFM and NPP valves resulting in the ECU remaining happy, allowing the C8 Corvette to operate at full stride with no CELs and maximum peace of mind. Each kit includes two pairs -- one for AFM, and the other for NPP. If your C8 does not have NPP, only one pair will be used. Purely plug in and rip!
Heat shielding:
As a finishing touch, the included aluminum heat shield bolts to the bumper (via factory mounting locations) and resides neatly behind the exhaust, out of sight, with only an AWE logo showing through the rear mesh to let everyone know what team you’re on.
Why’d we go with an aluminum solution versus a heat blanket? Heat blankets are susceptible to waterlogging and material breakdown over extended periods of time. Crafting the headshield out of aluminum it provides a true, lifetime solution.
